A physical examination ensures a person is healthy enough to participate in a certain activity. For children, these exams provide a helpful look at their growth and development as well as ensure their immunizations are up to date. At CareFirst Urgent Care, we offer the following types of physicals:
If you need a physical exam, stop by CareFirst Urgent Care today. We are open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and you can walk right in to receive the services you need. We accept all health insurance plans, including all forms of Ohio Medicaid, and offer reasonable rates for uninsured patients.
What do I need to bring toa physical exam?
Before your physical exam, be sure to have knowledge of any prescriptions or supplements you are taking, as well as any recent medical history such as lab work, prior surgeries, and any allergy-related information. Additionally, if you are taking a sports physical or employment physical, be sure to bring any necessary paperwork for your provider to sign.
How long do physical exams take?
Physical exams can take between 15-to-30 minutes to complete. During the physical, your provider will measure your blood pressure, heart rate, height and weight, as well as examine reflexes, the nose, throat, vision and hearing.
Can I walk-in for a physical exam?
Yes. CareFirst Urgent Care accepts walk-in appointments for physical exams. Our short wait times make getting a last-minute physical exam very convenient.
Can I drink water before a physical exam?
Yes, you can drink water before a physical exam unless your provider stated they will be performing a specific test that requires fasting. Your provider will let you know of any restrictions or requirements that you need to follow before your exam.
What is the difference between a sports physical and an annual physical?
Although there is an overlap, a sports physical is designed to specifically analyze the ability to perform in sports based on potential risks of injuries or medical complications. A sports physical generally requires fewer tests while a routine annual physical provides a more comprehensive and holistic look at your overall health by taking into account nutrition, immunizations, vision, and hearing, among other specifics.
